    Introduction ABS filament

    ABS, Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, is a polymer that is molded and engineered to be a great material for 3D printing.

    • Our 1.75mm Gray 3D printing ABS filaments are manufactured from virgin grade raw material (raw white pellets);
    • Each ABS filament batch (color, material, thickness) is tested prior to shipment, and our ABS filament test by our 3D printer;
    • All of our ABS filaments with the same physical properties, except the color;
    • Our 1.75mm Gray 3D printing filaments are sealed packing without moisture before shipping - moisture will ruin this material;
    • The color will also vary from the picture due to lighting condition;
    • The melting point and diameter tolerance of our filaments are different due to the density of the material;
    • The feed rate and the size of the hot end used will also affect melting point;
    • A properly sized roller and calibrated hot end is required for good performance;

    For Desktop 3D printer successful printing, the correct temperature settings are very important. The material properties and advised print settings of ABS are shown in the table below.

    The detail temperature setting are different for the various 3D printers. Use the above values as a starting point, optimal values for your specific printer may vary from the values shown above, depending on your 3Dprinter nozzle diameter, printing speed and layer height.

    But the printing temperature is always higher than the melting temperature to achieve proper heat transfer to the filament.
